چکیده
In a class of piecewise-constant image segmentation models, we propose to incorporate weighted difference anisotropic and isotropic total variation (AITV) regularize the partition boundaries in an image. particular, replace regularization Chan--Vese model fuzzy region competition by proposed AITV. To deal with nonconvex nature AITV, apply difference-of-convex algorithm (DCA), which subproblems can be minimized primal-dual hybrid gradient method linesearch. The convergence DCA scheme is analyzed. addition, generalization color discussed. numerical experiments, compare models classic convex approaches two-stage methods (smoothing then thresholding) on various images, showing that our are effective robust respect impulsive noises.

A Weighted Difference of Anisotropic and Isotropic Total Variation Model for Image Processing
We propose a weighted difference of anisotropic and isotropic total variation (TV) as a regularization for image processing tasks, based on the well-known TV model and natural image statistics. Due to the difference form of our model, it is natural to compute via a difference of convex algorithm (DCA). We draw its connection to the Bregman iteration for convex problems, and prove that the itera...
متن کاملA Multiscale Algorithm for Mumford-Shah Image Segmentation
We propose a new multiscale procedure for image segmentation that is based on the algorithm introduced by Song and Chan in [11]. After pointing out the presence of spurious stationary states for the original algorithm on certain types of images, we explain how the proposed procedure abates this issue and leads to a faster segmentation method.
متن کاملImage partition and video segmentation using the Mumford - Shah functional
The aim of this Thesis is to present an image partition and video segmentation procedure, based on the minimization of a modified version of Mumford-Shah functional. Generally, in most image processing applications, an image is usually viewed as a set of pixels placed on a rectangular grid. A single pixel provides an extremely local information making impossible any kind of interpretation. The ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Gradient Flow of a Regularized Mumford-shah Functional for Image Segmentation and Image Inpainting
Abstract. This paper studies the gradient flow of a regularized Mumford-Shah functional proposed by Ambrosio and Tortorelli (1990, 1992) for image segmentation, and adopted by Esedoglu and Shen (2002) for image inpainting. It is shown that the gradient flow with L2×L∞ initial data possesses a global weak solution, and it has a unique global in time strong solution, which has at most finite numb...
متن کاملRegion Based Image Segmentation Using a Modified Mumford-Shah Algorithm
Abstract. The goal of this paper is to develop region based image segmentation algorithms. Two new variational PDE image segmentation models are proposed. The first model is obtained by minimizing an energy function which depends on a modified Mumford-Shah algorithm. The second model is acquired by utilizing prior shape information and region intensity values. The numerical experiments of the p...
